San Marzano plum tomatoes originate from Italy. First grown in the volcanic soil of Mount Vesuvius. San Marzano tomatoes are distinctive as they are thinner and more pointed. They have a stronger taste which is sweeter and less acidic . These plum tomatoes have fewer seeds and the flesh is thicker. They are perfect to grow on the patio or if you have small garden space. They usually grow in clusters of 6 -8
  • How to Grow Tomato

    • Can be grown in large pots/containers even a builders bucket with drainage holes drilled
    • Use well draining soil (Multi purpose compost is sufficient)
    • Requires a sunny spot
    • Keep Soil moist 
    • Feed once per week with a high pot ash feed (tomato feed)
    • Stake tall growing varities
    • Remove suckers from San Marzano, Shirley, Money Maker and Beefsteak. 
    • Cut back leaves that crowd the fruit
